Walk 1

Adjacent to Mini Hollywood 2 miles

From the entrance to Mini Hollywood find rough track opposite descending into a valley with posts having red & white circular cut-outs indicating a recognised route. The path is very unmade and full of fissures and cracks due to the very arid dry desert conditions. Follow this to a wider valley & turn left. Pass a ruin then walk through very rough & overgrown vegetation to find & follow a wide track to the main road. Pass under the road & turn left to return via a path back to Mini Hollywood.

The Tabernas Desert which can reach 48 degrees Centigrade.

Walk 2

Garracha to Mojacar:           4 miles

The Rio Aguas is crossed before entering Garracha.

Look over the bridge on both sides of the road for ideal habitat among the Gorse scrub & Reed Mace.

The Seaward side of the Bridge has the estuary water cutting into the vegetation.

The walk starts from the Garracha side of the bridge at the side of Hotel Marina Playa.

Follow track for a few yards then turn left to walk between high Reed mace & Scrubby Trees. Eventually climb back to an upper path & continue along this. At a Gate to a factory, find the path continuing just to the left. A small fenced off res’r is a potential habitat for Grebes.

Continue to a junction & turn left along a track with old rough farmland to the left.

Eventually pass under a road & follow through very rough overgrown area to the left to a landfill.

With the village of Mojacar above you as a guide, find & follow track to the right just over a ditch. Turn left & follow track to pass a villa. Left turn at road junction then right turn to climb up into Mojacar via steps & narrow walkways.

Walk 3

Mojacar to Playa Mojacar 3 miles

From Mojacar walk down access road out of the village and look for Café Habanero on the left. Walk down road just before and on the opposite side of the road.

At top right, right fork up Cul De Sac then right fork again.

This becomes a track at entrance to the Paraje San Ramon Villa. Follow track up hill. Just before top look for path on left descending to traverse around valley then right turn to ruined Finca. Path here on left to pass behind Villa’s ending up at a tarmaced road. Left turn to junction. Right turn then at Right Hand Bend, continue straight on along access to ruined Finca. Find path on left that eventually leads to the entrance to gated Cortijo San Carlos Villa. Follow track to the Prom at Playa Mojacar.
